Karen and I set up Blushful Earth after growing up in a mining community where the important things were helping each other, social wealth and cohesion. Never comfortable with a world influenced by large commercial organisations, we wanted to work differently.

I started making wedding invitations because I wanted to reduce the impact that the wedding industry is having on the environment. To do this all my designs are made from recycled or tree free papers, and card. By sourcing materials locally I can also keep costs down meaning I charge lower prices. My products are decorated using biodegradable and natural twines; this gives our designs a natural and unique look. I also incorporate wild flower seed paper, recycled denim, grass, banana and hay papers into my designs sourced from a local designer. I also offer a bespoke design service, so designs can be very personal and original in design. The enjoyment I get from making invitations for someone who wants to use recycled materials is great.
